# Seekrates AI Privacy Policy
Seekrates AI is a multi-LLM consensus platform operated by Pixels,
Auckland, New Zealand. This Privacy Policy explains what data we
collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled. This policy is
written to comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where
applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
## 1. Who we are
Seekrates AI is operated by Pixels (Auckland, New Zealand).

## 2. What data we collect
Seekrates AI collects only the data necessary to operate the service.
Specifically:
**Account data (for registered users):**
– Email address (for account management and login)
– Password (stored as bcrypt hash, never in plain text)
– Subscription tier
**Query data (for each consensus request):**
– The query text you submit
– Optional focus keyword and category metadata
– Your API key (for authentication)
– Request timestamp
– Consensus response returned
**Technical data (for operation and security):**
– IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
– Browser/user-agent string
– Referrer URL
## 3. Why we collect it
– **Service delivery:** To route your query to five LLM providers
(OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Cohere) and return consensus
output.
– **Authentication:** To verify your API key and meter usage against
your subscription tier.
– **Security:** To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorised
access.
– **Support:** To respond to your requests for help or account
changes.
## 4. Third-party data recipients
When you submit a query, the query text is transmitted to one or more
of the following LLM providers for processing:
– OpenAI (https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/)
– Anthropic (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy)
– Google Gemini (https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms)
– Mistral AI (https://mistral.ai/terms)
– Cohere (https://cohere.com/privacy)
Each provider has its own privacy policy, which governs how they
handle the query text they receive. We do not train our own models
on your queries. We cannot control the training policies of upstream
providers; where they offer opt-out mechanisms, we use them where
practical.
Payment data is processed by Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy).
Seekrates AI does not store credit card numbers.
## 5. Retention
– **Query logs:** Retained for 30 days for operational debugging and
safety monitoring, then deleted.
– **Account data:** Retained for the duration of your account. On
account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days.
– **Aggregated analytics:** Retained indefinitely in a form that
cannot identify individual users.
## 6. Your rights
Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020 and GDPR (where applicable), you have
the right to:
– Access the personal data we hold about you
– Request correction of inaccurate data
– Request deletion of your data (subject to lawful retention
obligations)
– Request data portability (export of your account data)
– Object to processing based on legitimate interest
– Withdraw consent at any time
– Lodge a complaint with the NZ Privacy Commissioner

supervisory authority

## 7. Security
– All data in transit is TLS-encrypted (HTTPS).
– Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.
– API keys are stored in AWS Secrets Manager with Fernet encryption.
– Database access is restricted to authenticated backend services.
– We conduct regular internal security reviews and log audit trails.
## 8. Cookies
The Seekrates AI website uses strictly necessary cookies for
session management and security. We do not use advertising,
tracking, or third-party analytics cookies.
## 9. Cross-border data transfers
Seekrates AI is hosted on Railway infrastructure, which may route
data through servers in the United States and the European Union.
Query data is transmitted to LLM providers whose infrastructure is
typically located in the United States. By using the service, you
consent to these cross-border transfers, subject to the protections
provided by the receiving providers’ privacy policies.
## 10. Children
Seekrates AI is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do
not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a
child has provided personal data to Seekrates AI, contact
mohan@pixels.net.nz and we will delete it.
## 11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will
be announced via email to registered users at least 30 days in
advance where practical. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of
this policy reflects the most recent revision.
